Om 10:30 vertrekt ons bootje voor een trip van ongeveer 4 uurtjes langs de kust van het “Abel Tasman National Park”. Eerst even vegetarisch ontbijten en dan in de benen. In het winkeltje bij het strand kopen we nog wat proviand voor onderweg aangezien de boot daarin net voorziet.
Het is flinke catamaran boot met meer dan genoeg plek voor iedereen. Onderweg worden sommige mensen afgezet zodat ze later weer worden opgepikt of sommige verblijven 1 of meerdere nachtjes in het park.
Eerst varen we langs de “Split Apple Rock” en daarna verder langs de prachtige kust met gouden stranden. We spotten nog wat zeehondjes op de rotsen en varen uiteindelijk tot zo ver als “Tōtaranui Beach”. Echt een heel lang en prachtig gouden strand.
De terugweg pikken we nog wat mensen op en we mogen ook even 5 minuutjes aan wal terwijl we wachten op een paar medereizigers. Daarna pruttelen we terug naar Kaiteriteri. Vanwege de lage waterstand moest er ander strand worden gekozen om ons van de boot te kunnen laten. Maar we konden dan gewoon via het strand terug wandelen. Nou dat betekende dus ook nog schoentjes uit en pootje baden. Dré dolgelukkig want hij is “Dol” op zand..
Terug in de hotelkamer even geluierd en daarna een plons in het zwembad en nog in de jacuzzi gehangen. That’s all folks!
